Clonsilla Area Transportation Study
The City of Peterborough (City) completed a city-wide Transportation Master Plan (TMP) in 2024 which identifies multi-modal transportation solutions to help address population and employment growth in the city up to 2051. As part of the TMP, four Special Study Areas were identified that will require more detailed study to evaluate opportunities to optimize the performance and safety of the existing transportation network, improve selected roadways and intersections, and invest in active transportation and transit.
The city is initiating the Clonsilla Area Transportation Study to assess the need for transportation improvements within Special Study Area A (please refer to Study Area map), as recommended within the TMP, which will evaluate multi-modal transportation routes in the Clonsilla Avenue/Goodfellow Road/Sherbrooke Street area.
This study is being carried out in two phases: Part A, Study Design; and Part B, Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA). Part A, Study Design, will confirm the Study Area, identify the transportation problems and opportunities to be addressed, determine a set of reasonable alternatives to be evaluated, and outline the scope of work and consultation plan to be carried out in Part B.
Please visit this webpage regularly for the latest study updates.
One of the key principles of this study includes consultation with First Nations, the public, agencies, community partners, etc. Opportunities to share ideas, provide comments and/or ask questions will be offered throughout this study, including but not limited to study notifications, updates, and in person and online public consultation events.
A Draft Study Design Report and Online Public Information Centre 1 will be available for your review and comment between July 9 and August 21, 2025.
