What's Happening
The City of Peterborough has developed a plan for the neighbourhood park known as Heritage Park, located at 380 Carnegie Avenue in Ward 5. This plan represents the vision for the project and identifies future park improvements.
Project Update
The Heritage Park project was initiated in spring 2021. The City was intending to have the project ready for construction in Fall 2021/Spring 2022. The project has not able to move forward as originally scheduled. In the meantime, the City was able to obtain additional funding for the project, which will help pay for enhanced accessibility features, a half basketball court and other park amenities.
The subdivider is currently completing the park grading, seeding and trail realignment. This work is anticipated to be completed in the next couple weeks (approximately by mid June 2022) and has not resulted in any delays to the park project.
The City is preparing to tender the project in the coming weeks. It is anticipated that the successful proponent will be selected in summer 2022. The selection of the playground equipment is underway. The park construction schedule will be updated based on the selected proponents work schedule.
