Have the amenities been decided upon already?

The City is seeking input from residents to ensure park amenities will meet the needs of the community. This input will help inform the design of the project.

Kawartha Heights Park was identified as a candidate location in the Parks and Outdoor Recreation Facility Study for a Level B ball diamond, rectangular field, splashpad, dog park and multi-sport court. The study sought input from the community to create long-term strategies to improve and expand opportunities to support recreation across the City.

All proposed upgrades and amenities are subject to budget approval by City Council. Following the initial consultation period, a facility fit study will be undertaken, taking into account feedback received. The facility fit study will be shared through a second consultation period, giving the public another opportunity to provide input before final budget approval.

What is a multi-sport court? Does it include Pickleball?

The intention for the multi-sport court is to include line markings for basketball and ball hockey. Pickleball is not being considered for these courts.
