What's Happening

The City of Peterborough is developing a plan for the rejuvenation of Glenn Pagett Park. The park is located at 827 Stocker Road in Ward 1. This plan will be used to develop a vision for the park and identify priorities for future park improvements.

Glenn Pagett Park was identified as a priority when the City of Peterborough conducted a comprehensive consultation program to assess the existing City parks and open spaces.

The Assessment of Parks and Open Space and Parks Development Standards documents provided an evaluation of the quality and functionality of established neighbourhood parks and identified those in need of rejuvenation. City parks will incorporate features for all ages with a focus on improving accessibility within the parks, as well as accessible paths of travel to parks.

In 2026, through a public drop-in session and an online survey, we collected feedback from the neighbourhood to determine the most requested park features they would like to see in the park and to make suggestions to create an inclusive play environment.

What we heard

According to the City's 2026 survey, the top 5 park amenities in order of ranking were:

  1. Play structure
  2. More trees
  3. Shade structure
  4. Open lawn and free play area
  5. Picnic area

The top 5 elements of a playground in order of ranking were:

  1. Swings
  2. Slide
  3. Climb around structure (i.e. net climber, twisted climb, ladders)
  4. Nature based play elements
  5. Upper body strength (i.e. overhead climber)

Full details from the survey are available in the Survey Response Report.

This neighbourhood feedback will be used to develop a concept plan for the park that will respond to the unique needs of residents.

Future information about the project and a concept plan will be updated on the Connect Peterborough project page as they come available.
