About the Community Action Plan

In 2017, AFP conducted a community consultation in which older adults throughout the community provided their feedback on how the greater Peterborough area could become more age-friendly. This feedback helped to inform the actions set out within the 2017 AFP Community Action Plan. The Plan identifies a clear path forward to enhance programs, services, and infrastructure for older adults in the Peterborough region.

Evaluation Project Background

In 2021, AFP received Ministry of Seniors and Accessibility Inclusive Community funding to evaluate the 2017 Community Action Plan, conduct an internal process review, and facilitate community consultation to prepare AFP for a new strategic plan. The one-year project started in April 2021 and will be completed in June 2022.

AFP is now conducting community consultation to seek input from older adults within the greater Peterborough area to understand their current needs. This information will help inform future actions in the upcoming 2023-2025 Community Action Plan.

In May and June 2022, AFP will conduct community discussion groups to encourage conversations about how the greater Peterborough area can become more age-friendly. If you would like to participate in these discussion groups, please contact afpadmin@peterborough.ca
