City of Peterborough Community Grants

The City of Peterborough's Community Grant program provides funding to non-profit, community-based organizations that deliver direct programs, services, or activities that improve the quality of life for our residents. The grants support activities in the areas of social services and health, arts, culture, heritage, recreation, and the environment.

Currently the City provides almost $250,000 per year to groups and organizations through its Community Project Grant and Investment Grant streams.

The City also provides about $1.1 million a year to community organizations through its Community Service Grant stream for ongoing, annual operating support for organizations such as GreenUP, Little Lake Musicfest, Showplace Performing Arts Centre, and the Canadian Canoe Museum. The Service Grant stream is not being considered as part of this consultation.

Project and Investment Grants

There are two grant streams generally providing targeted funding in the following ways:

Community Project Grants (support for a specific project for which amount requested is $250 - $1000)

Community Investment Grants (project and special events, specific programs or operating budgets for which amount requested is $1000 - $15,000)

Further information can be found on the City of Peterborough community grants webpage as well in the City of Peterborough Community Grant Information and Guidelines.
