Community Recreation Membership
Recreation and Parks Services is exploring the opportunity to provide a new tiered membership model to the community. The new model would include access to recreation facilities throughout the City that offer public swims, skates, sports, adult leisure programming, fitness classes and more.
Locations may include: Peterborough Sport & Wellness Centre, McDonnel Street Community Centre, Healthy Planet Arena, and Miskin Law Community Complex.
Community members will be invited to provide their input through online and in-person survey opportunities, and providing ideas about membership through the Ideas tool at the bottom of this page. All the information that is shared will be reviewed by staff and considered when finalizing the recommended membership model.
Final recommendations on the membership model will be considered by City Council through a recommendation report in the Spring of 2024.

Memberships under 1 parent
If a child is a member under one parent, the other parent should have access to early registration, program discounts, and updates/communications for that child. It shouldnt matter who the membership is under, if the child is a member, they are a member, and both parents should be able to access the benefits for the sake of the child.

Exhibiting Art
There are many empty walls in recreation facilities and many local artists interested in exhibiting their work. I'm confident that there are many experienced exhibitors who'd be willing to help develop a program. Done correctly, it should pay for itself via user fees and could be managed by volunteers.
