In 2026, The City is planning a facility fit study and public engagement process. In 2027, Phase 1 work is proposed to upgrade the ball diamond or the rectangular field to a Level B and formalize parking. In 2028, Phase 2 work is proposed to provide a new splashpad, pet exercise area and multi-use sport court.
City parks will incorporate features for all ages with a focus on improving accessibility within the parks.
In 2023, the Parks and Outdoor Recreation Facility Study sought input from the community to create long-term strategies for the provision of selected types of outdoor culture and recreation facilities.
Kawartha Heights Park was identified as a candidate location for multiple facilities to improve and expand opportunities to support recreation across the City. Completion of this project will support the provision strategies as outlined in the report.
