What's Happening
The City of Peterborough is inviting residents to learn about the upgrades to the accessible playground at Riverview Park and Zoo, provide feedback and share ideas on what park amenities they would like to see. The park is located at 1300 Water St. N in the north end of the City. The upgrades are to improve the accessibility of Riverview Park and Zoo playground.

Riverview Park and Zoo, in partnership with The Rotary Club of Peterborough, is committed to raising $1.5 million to bring this vision to life. Project ROAR is a community-driven campaign to build an accessible, inclusive playground where children of all abilities can laugh, explore, and play together side by side.

The accessibility upgrades will be a multi-year project and focus on decreasing steep slopes and improving access to the existing playground. The upgrades include new shaded seating areas and walkways throughout the playground areas.

Riverview Park and Zoo is a Canada Accredited Zoo and Aquarium (CAZA) facility and features over 40 animal species.

How can you be heard?
The City is seeking input from the residents to ensure that the upgrades will be best suited to meet the needs of the community.
